kvbw head office karlsruhe
The new head office of the Baden-Württemberg municipal supply association (KVBW) is currently being built in Karlsruhe, Ludwig-Erhard-Allee, which connects the eastern city with the centre.
The Düsseldorf architectural firm „sop slapa oberholz pszczulny“ won the Europe-wide competition with a design that scores with conciseness and sensitivity. The jury was convinced that the voluminous building was sensitively integrated into the cityscape.
This is achieved by varying building heights, which corespond to the surrounding buildings and also by the delicate, rhythmic facade of the company INOCLAD Engineering. The arrangement of horizontal and vertical sculptural strips made from folded aluminium sheets between the window elements unobtrusively unfolds its effect. Now it makes the building complex appear distinctive.
